Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Position Summary: Coordinates the drug and alcohol testing program for Occupational Medicine, administering the random consortiums, clinical expertise in chain of custody procedures, training of individuals and the organization of the paperwork process. Performs drug and alcohol testing procedures. Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS H.S. Diploma/GED or Experience in Lieu of Education – Three to five (3-5) years of lab or patient care experience in a healthcare facility required CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Certified Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) within 3 months and DOT Urine Collector Certification within 3 months and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Three (3) years Healthcare/Medical – Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technician or Three (3) years Healthcare/Medical. Three to five years lab or patient care experience in a healthcare facility required. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Excellent clerical skills and attention to detail. Must be able to perform complex and varied tasks, sometimes in stressful situations. Independent judgment required. Strong communication and customer service skills and respect for confidentiality. Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions. Essential Functions:

+ Educates support staff and employers on testing procedures, regulations and laws.

+ Manage the flow of supplies including: ordering and purchasing inventory and non-inventory supplies, checking-in supplies, monitoring stock levels daily, maintaining inventory levels, distributing supplies, and monitoring actual or potential shortages in supplies.

+ Trains staff to become certified breath alcohol technicians. Trains staff to become certified drug screen collectors. Communicates any changes in processes related to urine or hair drug screening and breath alcohol testing. Maintains testing documentation per DOT regulations.

+ Ensures ranges and testing materials are appropriate for all testing performed.

+ Audits, identifies, and resolves problem areas, whether they are process, system, or training issues.

+ Investigates and resolves customer inquiries and complaints
