Job Description
Beacon Hill is a proud partner to a reputable University in Chicago. We are currently hiring a Payroll Specialist.Responsibilities/Duties
The responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist are, but are not limited to:
- Administer bi-weekly payroll for students, part-time hourly workers, and non-exempt employees, including the processing of student stipends.
- Handle semi-monthly payroll for exempt faculty and staff, encompassing stipends, additional payments, and related transactions.
- Review payroll reports to ensure accuracy before issuing checks or direct deposit advice.
- Oversee the allocation of college work-study funds.
- Assist employees with completing payroll documentation and various benefit forms.
- Address payroll compliance issues by liaising with relevant parties.
- Follow up with employees who have not submitted necessary personnel paperwork, including sending reminders for timesheet submissions.
- Execute direct deposit transactions via ACH as per the payroll schedule.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related
- Experience with Banner or Ellucian Software
- 3+ years of Payroll experience
- Strong data entry, written and verbal communication skills
