Job Title: Journeyman Machinist

Job Description

We are in search of a motivated, critical thinker to fill the role of Journeyman Machinist. In this position, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. You will also be expected to work with a the person or Herco (although training will be provided if necessary).

Hard Skills

+ 4-5 years of setup – milling experience

+ Programming

+ Running

+ Experience with a the person or Herco

+ Minimum of 5 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or completion of a formal apprenticeship

Soft Skills

+ Detail-oriented

+ Analytical and numerical skills

+ Ability to follow written and oral instructions

+ Team player

+ Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, bend, and stand or walk for extended periods

+ Flexibility to work shifts, including late or early hours, weekends, and overtime as necessary

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Oregon, Illinois.

Work Environment

This position offers a competitive wage range of $22-$30. Our company culture is ever-changing, positive and promotes learning and growth. Our retention rate is high at 90%, with turnover at 10% or less. We have a team of 38 employees on the production floor, with 15 in the machine shop. Dress code is casual but safety-focused, requiring safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and jeans or shorts. The work environment can get warm, but large ceiling fans are in place and we provide Gatorade/water. There are two potential shifts; Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, with hours primarily being 6am-4:30pm, including lunch and two breaks. Expect 45-50 hours of work per week.
