Job Title: Furnace Operator

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Furnace Operator with experience within a foundry and furnace operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the casting line and equipment, charging and pouring both main and small furnaces according to project specifications, and managing process flows, including controlling the metal flow and cooling water. This role requires vigilance in observing and adjusting the casting speed and reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor promptly. Candidates should be capable of operating a forklift and willing to work in various temperature conditions as part of rotating shifts.

Hard Skills

+ 3 years of foundry and furnace experience

+ Experience with large and small furnaces

+ Forklift operation

Soft Skills

+ Ability to work in hot conditions

+ Vigilance in monitoring equipment

+ Effective communication with supervisors

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Chicago Heights, Illinois.

Work Environment

The role predominantly involves working in an office setting outside of the production plant or warehouse center. However, it includes walking onto the plant production floor where conditions can vary from hot or humid to extremely cold, and near moving mechanical parts or equipment. The noise level varies from quiet in the office to loud on the production floor or loading areas.
