Qualifications

- Associates Degree in Electronics

- 5-10+ years of experience

- Good knowledge of electronics including schematic reading and understanding of wiring diagrams

- Familiar with 3 phase power (208 – 600 volts), relay logic, circuit breakers, contactors, VFD’s, electronics, and microcomputers.

- Understanding relay ladder diagrams, major troubleshooting

- Understanding of PLC ladder diagrams, minor troubleshooting, loading programs, etc

o Ability to plug in the laptop and run diagnostics

o No programming, very minor edits to PLC program – this can also be trained

- Experience with 3 phase industrial motors and reduced voltage starting is a must

- Ability to travel 50% of the time – national travel. Trips are usually 2-3 days at a time and up to 2 weeks out of the month.

o When not traveling, the Field Tech will be responsible for providing in house technical support and troubleshooting over the phone

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

The Field Service Technician is responsible for in house technical support and field support work. This role is open due to the current Field Service Technician retiring at the end of 2024 who has been with the company for 40 years. Expected travel is up to 50% (national travel). While in the field, the Technician will oversee the power up of the equipment, acceptance testing in the field, troubleshooting of fire pump controllers and battery chargers.
