Job Summary:

The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator position is responsible for human resources (HR) administrative support, including applicant tracking, pre-employment process, new hire orientation, associate engagement activities and payroll. The job is based on site in our warehouse/distribution facility in Rock Island, IL that operates multiple shifts per day including weekends and employs 400 associates throughout the Midwest in a variety of functions including outside sales, drivers, warehouse, finance and procurement. This non-exempt entry-level position reports to the Human Resources Manager and will perform the following duties:

Position Responsibilities:

+ Assists with the recruitment and selection process including posting job openings, reviewing applications, conducting phone screens and interviews, communicating with candidates and hiring managers, coordinating and following up on the pre-employment process in compliance with Affirmative Action (AA) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements. Attends job fairs and coordinates advertising strategies.

+ Conducts new hire orientation.

+ Updates and maintains associate information with HRIS.

+ Coordinates associate engagement activities such as company social events, charitable campaigns, etc.

+ Contributes to and edits the monthly newsletter.

+ Serves as back up to payroll function to process weekly payroll and maintain accurate timekeeping records.

+ Provides customer service to internal associates regarding company policies, benefits, leaves of absence, etc.

+ Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

- High school diploma/GED

- 1+ years’ experience in Human Resources or related area

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

- HRIS experience with applicant tracking systems, self-service portals and other related HR software
