Job Summary

The Senior Associate Director, Careers, serves as a central point of contact for companies which seek to engage with MiM and MiF Programs. The incumbent's primary focus is to conduct direct outreach to alumni and key employers to source job opportunities for MiM and MiF students and develop and manage these relationships. The Senior Associate Director has deep knowledge of firms' hiring profiles and is viewed as a trusted advisor with these employers. They also work closely with MiM and MiF students on their career pathing so they will be well-positioned to advocate for specific students with specific companies, leading to greater employment success.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a central point of contact for companies which seek to engage with MiM and MiF Programs. This may be related to hiring Booth talent, guest speaker opportunities, or experiential learning opportunities for students.Develops and manages relationships with employers who can hire students in Booth's newly created specialized master programs; conducts direct outreach to alumni and key employers to source job opportunities for MiM and MiF students. Coordinates with Booth staff in London and Hong Kong to source international employment opportunities for students.
  • Advocates for specific students with specific companies, which entails deep knowledge of firms' hiring profiles and sufficiently trusted relationships with firms so that they welcome our referrals.
  • Collects, analyzes, and utilizes data to determine market and industry trends. Performs analysis on incoming student populations to inform employer outreach strategies. Creates company engagement strategies and collateral for potential employers.
  • Coaches MiM / MiF students who have an industry focus. Provides guidance on job search approach and tactics, which includes reviewing resumes, refining target lists, and connecting students with recruiters and supportive alumni.
  • Creates and manages speaker series which brings senior level alumni and company executives to campus. Facilitates off-site industry treks and office visits, and other networking opportunities. Solicits panelists and moderates panels to educate MiM / MiF students on relevant career paths.
  • Leads engagement with internal partners to ensure information flow between admissions, career coaches, and program operations staff, such that this role has full perspective on students' career ambitions and goals.Provides talking points, and creates presentations, one-pagers, and documents for internal partners engaging with companies and alumni, and reports to stakeholders on career support and outcomes for MiM and MiF.
  • Creates partnerships with undergraduate and other graduate career offices to ensure collaboration and coordination, particularly related to University's 4+1 initiative and on employer outreach when appropriate.Serves as Booth lead on jointly sponsored initiatives (job fairs, workshops, etc.) supporting student employment outcomes.
  • Works closely with Booth Career Services to ensure collaboration and coordination related to MBA career support as appropriate.Partners with Career Services to coordinate campus recruiting visits.
  • Partners with Career Services to create and maintain an online recruiting solution to house a job board, resume databases, a coaching tool, and an employer tracking system. Establishes outcome tracking process and collects accurate data on students' success in internship and job outcomes.
  • Conducts complex job search and career management related large lectures, hands-on workshops, special events, training programs, and one-on-one career coaching sessions. Acts as a lead resource for and directs students to other career resources as needed.
  • Researches organizations that are hiring and partners with a wide variety of employers to ensure recruitment strategies meet their needs. Maintains contact with a portfolio of employers to serve as their dedicated Career Advancement liaison.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:
  • Master's degree.

Experience:
  • A minimum seven years of business development, marketing, and/or recruitment experience.
  • Background working in a university environment.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database management.

Working Conditions
  • This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
  • Work long hours, early mornings, late evenings, to lead and join student and employer meetings.
