Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Project Manager for Strategic Initiatives is to oversee all deans' office priority projects and support the Strategic Initiatives team responsibilities, including data governance.

Responsibilities
  • Manages critical deans' office priority projects and initiatives, short-term, ad hoc and longer term.
  • Responsible for the school's accreditation process for all Booth programs, including working schoolwide to plan, coordinate, organize and write reports.
  • Works with Advancement and the faculty director to organize and execute the NY Round Table membership, dinners, and progress reporting.
  • Oversees and manages the Strategic Initiatives budget.
  • Manages and organizes staff committees, as directed by the deans, including the Operational Improvement Committee, an ongoing committee formed to continually review schoolwide efficiencies.
  • Provides back-up to the Data Governance team, which includes and requires the ability to work with faculty and provide research data request support.
  • Staffs and organizes the Family Office Initiative, working at the direction of Booth faculty and a trustee. This initiative requires more than 50% of the position's time which will grow as it evolves into a center. The role requires managing all facets, including the budget, fundraising strategy, marketing strategy, staffing the external advisory boards, etc.
  • Prepares reports and completes special projects as requested.
  • Works somewhat independently to develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Assembles and leads a project team, assigns individual responsibilities, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Is responsible for tracking progress, conducting analysis, as well as preparing for and facilitating project meetings.
  • Acts as a resource for a project team and provides analytical guidance. Interprets complex project issues and provides analytical guidance to a project team.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:
  • Master's degree.

Experience:
  • A minimum of five years of project management experience.
  • Background in higher education experience.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), WebEx, Zoom, and Blackboard.

  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal, presentation, and written skills, with attention to grammar and spelling.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, basic math and finance skills.

  • Handle multiple detailed tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, faculty, trustees/senior level alumni and business leaders and internal school leadership in a multitude of communication methods i.e., in person, email, phone.
  • Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach.

Working Conditions
  • This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
