The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care Wellness and Weight Management Program is seeking a Clinician Educator to join our Wellness and Weight Management Program. We are accepting applications for a faculty position in the clinician-educator, non-tenure-eligible at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Applicants with robust clinical experience in obesity or weight management are strongly preferred. Applicants must be board certified in Pediatrics. An ideal candidate would be certified in Obesity Medicine, with a strong track record of providing high quality obesity management care.
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is the primary pediatric teaching hospital of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The incoming faculty member will obtain an academic appointment at the level of Instructor or Assistant Professor, depending on experience. Salary and benefits are competitive. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2022, or earlier. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The Division of Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care
Our Wellness and Weight Management Program currently sees over 2000 patient visits annually at one of three outpatient locations and we are expanding. Come join our team of general pediatric obesity medicine specialists. We work in partnership with nutritionists and partner with social workers, as needed. Supporting pediatric faculty include a large team of subspecialists to provide the expertise to help with evaluation and management of the wide array of serious comorbidities identified. The pediatric leader we are seeking will provide obesity specialist care at our Lurie Children's satellite locations in the Northern and Western suburbs, which will include care for children across all ages. We serve a very diverse and predominantly publicly insured patient population. We anticipate that a portion of the clinical time will take place in coordination with the Bariatric Surgery program. This attending physician will also have the opportunity to participate in the educational of the Northwestern University McGaw pediatric residency program and medical students training. The Wellness and Weight Management Program has an active research agenda and is a member of the POWER (Pediatric Obesity Weight Management Evaluation Registry).
