Job Description
Amount, Inc. seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer in Chicago, IL**. Duties: Work closely with the Senior Directors, the Head of Quality Assurance, and Engineering team to enhance and expand functionality and testing of our applications, systems and infrastructure. Analyze business and technical specifications and documentation and Agile stories to create automated test suites. Scrutinize historical test results and suggest enhancements and modularization of existing suites. Maintain and enhance documentation and tutorials for end users including and other QA analysts and Developers. Work closely with the Product and Platform teams to gather and understand project requirements and identify bugs and deficiencies in the software. Ensure that our products, applications, and systems work correctly. The Quality Assurance Engineer will utilize expertise in Computer Science to perform the specific professional and specialized duties include the following: • Review and analyze business and system specifications. • Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective test strategies and plans. • Execute test cases (with automation and occasionally manually) and analyze results. • Enhance a proprietary cutting-edge QA automation suite based in Java with Selenium, TestRail, IntelliJ IDEA and Maven components. • Write automation scripts to improve the quality and timeliness of testing. • Create logs to document testing phases and defects. • Communicate bugs, errors and status to development, QA and management teams in a clear and timely manner. • Work with the Project Management and Business Analyst team to make sure requirements are tested and defects are logged and re-tested to closure. • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing. • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. • Work with and train on-shore and off-shore QA team members to support the applications and systems according to specifications. • Enhance scheduling of off hours tests and the reporting of those test results. • Adhere to team established technical and info security standards and practices. **Position is 100% remote. Requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or related Engineering or Technology field, or the equivalent in terms of education, training and experience and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or relevant quality assurance engineering experience in related similar positions. Alternatively, employer will accept a Masters degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or related Engineering or Technology field, or the equivalent in terms of education, training and experience and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or relevant quality assurance engineering experience in related similar positions. ***Will accept suitable combination of education, training and experience. Experience must include the following skills: ● Experience working in QA testing automation and development. ● Experience with scripting and coding, including Java and Python. ● Experience with QA automation tools, including Selenium. ● Experience with SQL Database queries and Database integration. ● Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. ● Experience with bug tracking software, including Jira, TFS, or Azure DevOps.
