Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The Graduate Assistant (GA) will report to the Assistant Director of Mission and Ministry. The Graduate Assistant will be expected to assist in various areas related to the ongoing vision and offerings of the Mission and Ministry department. The main responsibilities within Mission and Ministry will be assisting with the ongoing development of the hospitable environment within the San Miguel Center for Mission and Ministry as well as the development of the one-on-one spiritual companionship initiative through invitations to students and participating as a spiritual companion.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education
-Be a hospitable, welcoming, invitational presence on behalf of the Mission and Ministry department.
-Assist in the coordination and implementation of various hospitality ministries.
-Assist in the development and facilitation of retreats.
-Assist the Mission and Ministry staff in mentoring and accompanying the peer ministers as well as any other small faith sharing group leaders on campus
-Conduct research in support of program initiatives.
-Help organize and implement program events.
-Help create and revise various program documents for both internal and external audiences, e.g., program newsletter, event promotional materials.
Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelors degree required. Must be enrolled and maintain satisfactory progress in one of Lewis University's Graduate programs.
-Previous experience within Mission and Ministry's small faith sharing groups (Rooted/COGs, ELEVATE, Athlete's bible study, etc)
-Previous experience with one on one spiritual accompaniment
-Excellent writing, design, and editing skills. Experience with social media.
