The Moldmaker assembles, maintains, and repairs production molds, machinery, and systems, utilizing advanced troubleshooting skills. They conduct advanced maintenance on production mold tooling, create preventive maintenance schedules, and lead training efforts. Responsibilities include supporting production, performing equipment maintenance, making spare parts, assisting in new mold implementation, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Key Duties:
- Maintain and repair plastic injection mold.
- Perform equipment changeovers and tooling repairs.
- Fabricate spare parts and tooling.
- Finish mold components and assist in new mold implementation.
- Operate toolroom equipment and document repair work.
- Contribute to productivity and safety initiatives.
- Required Degree: High School degree or GED equivalent.
- Years of Experience: 3-5 years maintaining and troubleshooting/repairing plastic injection molds.
- Experience using inspection equipment accurately.
- Ability to read work instructions and interpret engineering graphics.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, and shift easily from one assignment to another in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work productively with engineering, production and toolroom employees.
- Ability to work any assigned shift and extra hours as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 1-5 times per day.
