Job Description

As an Environmental Technician, you will demonstrate full technical knowledge and possess all required physical abilities of the CEMS Technician position. You will travel to various client sites, both locally and nationwide, sometimes spending a few days at each site, to provide CEMS installation, maintenance, and operations services for industrial clients on projects assigned by the corporate office. You must be willing to increase your knowledge and skills and contribute added value to Company objectives. You will perform third-party EPA air emissions testing and monitoring for clients, typically at industrial or manufacturing sites. Your responsibilities include transporting, setting up, and breaking down testing equipment, recording data, collecting samples, performing equipment calibrations, assisting engineers in air quality testing procedures, organizing and loading testing equipment for upcoming jobs, and maintaining and cleaning testing equipment. Additionally, you will study for and obtain certifications for EPA Test Methods 1-5 using company resources.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Work Environment

Field work at industrial sites such as power plants, steel mills, refineries, manufacturing plants. Work involves setting up tests at heights of 100 to 400 feet, often in colder and windier conditions. Workdays are 8-10+ hours in the field or 8 hours in the warehouse. Team sizes vary from 3 to 20 depending on the project. Travel varies week-to-week, with occasional weekend work. On non-field days, tasks include preparing testing equipment and general maintenance in the warehouse.
