Position Highlights:

Position: Medical Assistant / Patient Support Associate, Orthopedics
Location: Glenview, IL
Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
Hours: The days will be Monday-Friday with rotating hours between 7am-5pm
Required Travel: Position will be required to travel between Glenbrook, Skokie, Lake Shore Drive, and Bucktown while working with Dr. Birmingham and the rest of the sports surgical division.

What you will need:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
Certification:CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.

What you will do:

Answer phones
Schedule appointments
Collect co-payments
Complete patient registration
Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
Check in and check out patient
Verify insurances
Greet patients and escort them to exam room
Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
Provide front office support as needed
Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
Phlebotomy and injections may be required
