The Opportunity

Our Pipeline Integrity Field services team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Houston, TX or Tinley Park, IL to support pipeline integrity assessment and repairs group. Reporting to the Manager of Assessment and Repairs, this position is a technical expert and support role in pipeline integrity.

We are seeking a motivated and accomplished Pipeline Integrity Engineer who is proficient in fitness for service evaluations, pipeline integrity repair determinations, US regulatory environment and pipeline operations. This individual has the proven skills, competencies and capacity to help guide the group into developing innovative, efficient and effective solutions using prudent engineering practices and to provide leadership and mentoring.

What you'll do
Support and drive a strong safety culture in line with corporate and department initiatives.
Support Operations and US Regulatory personnel with State PUC & PHMSA audits (49 CFR 192).
Provides technical leadership and mentoring for pipeline integrity engineers.
Collaborate with stakeholders, both within and outside the group to review and develop procedures and processes, evaluate and approve the use of new technologies, and support continuous improvement.
Coordinate and lead projects and initiatives of significant size and complexity.
Engage with industry groups (PRCI, API, INGAA etc.) and initiatives to help advance industry knowledge as well as improve company practices by leveraging developments in science and technology.
Provide expertise, technical support, and training in technical areas such as Pipeline Assessment, Equipment Maintenance, Inspection and repair decisions, Failure Investigation, Risk Management, Pipe Design, Pipeline Construction and Pipeline Operations and Maintenance.
Work with internal stakeholders in Safety and Technical Services, US Gas Operations field teams and management, Commercial Operations and Projects to ensure activities are completed to maintain the integrity and compliant operation of system assets.
Perform Engineering Assessments for increasing pipeline pressures, Operational changes, assessing pipeline reliability and for developing strategies to mitigate threats to pipeline integrity.
Develop and foster ongoing relationships with internal and external contacts (e.g. peers, directors, executives, government agencies, landowners, peers at competitor companies, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications
10+ Years' of relevant and progressive experience
A degree in relevant engineering major from an accredited university or degree in related major with commensurate relevant industry experience
In-depth knowledge and understanding of applicable industry codes and standards (CFR 192, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.8S, Various PHMSA Advisories, Relevant API standards etc.)
Exposure to and understanding of industry research and technology.
Broad expertise in pipeline integrity functions and understanding of pipeline operations.
Good working knowledge of pipe inspection and repair technologies

Preferred Qualifications
PE
Graduate degree or Commensurate experience
Functional understanding of data driven decision processes and data analytics
