We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Senior- Public in the service industry, located in Barrington, Illinois. The role involves working closely with offices in the area, providing assistance with their accounting, tax, financial, payroll, retirement, and general management needs. The successful candidate will be expected to establish strong working relationships with clients, based on an understanding of their businesses and challenges.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review client financial statements

- Prepare and review business tax returns for various forms including 1120, 1120S, and 1065

- Assist in shaping income division strategies and preparing income division schedules

- Support client buy-ins and buy-outs

- Provide assistance for clients’ accounting and payroll inquiries

- Undertake special financial projects as required

- Supervise and train staff accountants

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax staff role in the service industry

- Proficiency in tax software

- Strong understanding and experience in accounting functions and auditing

- Experience in managing cash activity and ensuring compliance

- Demonstrated skills in customer service

- Expertise in handling partnership tax returns and understanding partnership tax

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and management systems

- Ability to work effectively in a team

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is preferred

- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills.
