The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a supply systems analyst and systems security manager. This position evaluates, develops, documents and implements security and administrative actions pertaining to the standard base supply system (SBSS) automated data system (ADS) and associated personal computer (PC) programs. Responsibilities Serves as the point of contact for Supply Interface Systems (SIFS) Security Program Reviews and analyzes MAJCOM, AFMC and AFLCMC program releases, manuals, supplements, and procedures governing the operation of the SBSS and/or interface with other ADS’s Has primary responsibility for the Terminal Security Program Maintains, monitors and performance tunes the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) scheduling/forecasting program Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes analyzing, designs, develops, and maintains scheduling structure and applicants to effectively manage clients’ requests for products and services. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of full security concepts, operations, design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in designing, developing, testing, implementing, managing and maintaining security systems that meet current and future organizational business requirements. Knowledge of the agency, command, installation, and industry schedule processing standards, policies and procedures. Knowledge of information processing standards and procedures, automated technology and practices such as Automated Identification Technology Radio Frequency (AIT RF). Knowledge of Air Force IT security processes including programming languages (such as Query Language Processor (QLP)), Supply User Report Generator (SURGE). Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to analyze component interrelationships and evaluate security systems and applicants Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information, plan the sequence of actions necessary, make sound decisions and solve a variety of security management issues. Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed in an office setting. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
