Job Summary:

?As the Lead Digital Project Manager, you will join the Application Program Management Team of Cat Digital and manage project teams to build software solutions that integrate common services across our application portfolio and other enterprise systems used by Caterpillar customers and dealers. Provide leadership and mentor project managers. Manage delivery of group of related projects that delivers a common program goal in line with Cat Digital Strategy.

What You Will Do:

The Lead Digital Project Manager is accountable for ensuring successful completion of projects, on-time, within budget, and error-free. The principal responsibility of the Lead Digital Project Manager is to manage the planning and execution of various project deliverables. The Lead Digital Project Manager will be responsible for managing the project charter, communications, metrics, reporting, and the overall program plan with cross-functional dependencies and budget.

The Lead Digital Project Manager will:

+ Manage the day-to-day activities of projects, including overseeing project responsibilities and schedules. Develop contingency plans for potential risks.

+ Direct and motivate project team.

+ Evaluate and Manage deliverables to ensure that service expectations are achievable, developed, and met.

+ Monitor project results for significant deviations.

+ Ensure adherence to quality standards and processes.

+ Provide regular update to Business stakeholders and consumers of program deliverables.

+ Manage multiple projects concurrently.

+ Mentor project managers for success delivery of the program.

Skills You Will Have:

+ Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Extensive experience in effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

+ Project Administration: Extensive knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.

+ Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).

+ Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

+ IT Project Control and Reporting: Knowledge of project control and reporting; ability to monitor the vital signs of an IT project while managing its progress and delivery schedule.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

+ Typically, a Masters’ degree in computer science, information systems, or closely related disciplines and 10+ years of relevant experience

+ Working knowledge in applications development with a broad background in systems hardware, system software, support and development methodologies, business planning, project management, and customer application needs.

+ Extensive experience leading software development project management in an agile environment

+ Working knowledge of Azure DevOps (formerly VSTS) and Confluence

+ Proven ability in large organizational change management

+ Extensive experience in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and Power BI.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or influence others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.

+ Strong communication and presentation skills

+ Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred

+ Previous agile training (spring planning, daily scrums, sprint, retrospective)

+ PMP certification preferred

+ Six Sigma Black Belt Certification desirable

Additional Details:

Preferred location is Peoria, IL, but will allow for fully remote work for the right candidate in the United States with travel expectations of up to about 10% of the time as needed.

Summary Pay Range:

$123,480.00 – $185,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
