Responsibilities

 

As the AAG Project Reserach Director you will be primarily responsible for overseeing and coordinating the collaborative research agenda of the Addiction Alliance of Georgia (AAG), a formal collaboration between the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation and Emory University. Job duties include but are not limited to: supervising staff, leading quality AAG-initiated research projects, identifying and applying for federal and state grant funding, contributing to the development and submission of related manuscripts to scientific peer-reviewed journals, and assisting organizational leadership in the development and execution of the AAG research agenda. This position will be physically located in Minnesota and job responsibilities will be mainly executed virtually; however, travel will be required 1-2 times monthly, to the AAG facility in Atlanta, GA.


The AAG Project Research Director must be adept at research and analysis and possess excellent writing, editing and communication skills. The director must be organized, a problem solver, self-directed, and demonstrate strong leadership and initiative, while at the same time being a committed team player. The position requires federal grant writing experience, a keen understanding of addiction-related research and policy, and strong project management skills. 

 


Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

Research-based master's degree in psychology, public health, or related field from an accredited institution.

Completed graduate-level coursework in research design, methodology, and advanced statistics.

Minimum of 7-10 years of intervention, community-based, implementation science, or related research activity.

Prior supervision and leadership experience.

Prior peer-reviewed manuscript and grant writing development and submission experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

Research-based doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in psychology, public health, or related field completed within an accredited scientist or scientist-practitioner program.

Completed doctoral-level coursework in research design, methodology, and advanced statistics.

Minimum of 5-10 years of intervention, community-based, implementation science, or related research activity.

Prior supervision and leadership experience.

Previous successful manuscript development and submission experience for peer-reviewed publications.

Successful grant writing and submission experience for state, federal, and/or private foundation funding.
