A Brief Overview:
Under the direction of the Associate Vice President, Strategy and Planning through collaborative relationships with Hospital Vice Presidents of Operations, Associate Vice Presidents, the President of Linden Oaks Hospital, and among many others, this position will be accountable for strategic planning and operational improvement initiatives to support EEH's highest priority service lines, which currently represent an inpatient net revenue stream of over $150 Million, as well as Linden Oaks Hospital, which generates an annual net income in excess of $4 Million. It will also be responsible for directly providing and overseeing project management for major strategic and operational improvement initiatives requiring the ability to think strategically, manage complex, multi-departmental initiatives, and collaborate with and influence leadership at the highest levels of the organization. The System Director will oversee and develop/mentor the Strategy and Planning managerial talent to support organizational initiatives. Detailed responsibilities are listed below.

What you will do:
Serves as an internal expert, thought leader and strategic partner to operational leadership across the system on performance and growth strategies for assigned service lines. Provides ongoing input to System and Hospital leadership to support service line growth and development, including initiatives around new program development, operational improvement, strategic partnerships, and intra-system alignment.
Develops, monitors and manages long and short-term service line plans, including identification and prioritization of new program initiatives, technology investments, physician recruitment and alignment initiatives, key operational and process improvement projects, and other growth and expansion strategies.
Collaborates with system-wide operational leadership in the development, oversight and management of service line budgets and financial plans, including intelligence around key drivers of profitability.
Leads and coordinates business planning processes for assigned service lines and completes business plans for new program initiatives and strategic investments. Presents plans to senior management, Board of Directors, and related committees consistent with corporate approval policies. Monitors plan progress and provides periodic retrospective reviews against business plan goals.
Develops and monitors execution of strategic plan and all related business planning for Linden Oaks Hospital and Linden Oaks Medical Group (LOMG) to support continued growth and development of EEH's behavioral health enterprise.
Collaborates with system-wide operational leadership in the development of performance improvement plans, identifying and prioritizing opportunities for clinical and operational improvement as well as volume/revenue growth.
Manages the work of staff to ensure quality, timeliness, innovation, and professional development to support advancement of organizational projects. Mentors and develops staff as needed.
Leverages internal performance improvement resources and approaches as needed to support service line strategies.
Synthesizes intelligence on market and competitor trends and initiatives, consumer behavioral trends, clinical and technology trends, physician utilization and alignment, operational performance, and patient experience to develop and guide actionable service line strategies.
Utilizes available databases (Crimson Market Advantage, CompData, internal databases and other) to establish scorecards and other reports to ensure transparency around performance and to drive execution against strategic goals. Provides ongoing input to support business intelligence and reporting capabilities around service line development and performance. Conducts analyses and provides reports on service line profitability, utilization and other relevant performance metrics.
Provides project management and oversight to major strategic and system-wide initiatives as assigned.
Interviews, hires, orients, trains, evaluates the performances of and, when necessary, disciplines and/or discharges department personnel. Provides direction, as necessary, to staff regarding sensitive and/or complex work, related problems, resolves complaints and responds to inquiries regarding department operations.
Performs other related duties as required.
