Teach classes in the nursing practicum. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of clinical expertise in obstetrics, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves supervising nursing students during their clinical rotations, ensuring they gain hands-on experience and develop the necessary skills for a successful career in nursing. Participate in appropriate departmental meetings. Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning. Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of the subject matter necessary to the assigned course load and keep informed of current trends in the field of nursing and health care. Demonstrate strong understanding and commitment to the community college mission. Teach classes during non-traditional times (evenings) and at clinical and other campus sites as needed. Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract. Perform other duties as assigned.

1. Master's Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
2. Current Illinois Licensure as R.N.
3. Minimum of 1-3 years of recent clinical experience in obstetrics.
4. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
6.Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation, and quality.

1. Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
2. Experience at the community college level.
3. Experience in teaching online and/or using course management programs. 4. Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
5. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
6. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

Clinical/hospital units.

Nursing adjuncts are hired on an as-needed basis. These needs are related to student enrollment and can fluctuate from semester to semester.
