The Opportunity
This position works out of our Lake County, IL – CP01 site location in the Business & Technology Services – Core Diagnostics (CoreDx) IT Organization.
As an IT Portfolio Strategy Manager, you will develop and coordinate the Core Diagnostics IT Division strategy and roadmaps. This role reports to the Director of IT Strategy, Portfolio & Innovation to drive cross-division IT strategy activities and ensures effective aggregation of key messages and recommendations for executive-level presentations. This advanced professional-level position is an emerging expert in strategy-related activities with a financial analysis lens with deep understanding of business case development, evaluation, and success metrics. Functions in a consultant and leadership presence without specific direct reports. You will work directly with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) and key IT and business partners to understand business strategies, priorities, and long-range planning opportunities for translation into IT strategy and to uncover investment opportunities. This position also leverages second- and third-party research to increase division awareness of technology trends, stimulate creativity and innovation in others, and identify opportunities for business investment.
What You’ll Work On
+ Partner with business leaders and IT business relationship managers to document cross-division and business unit goals, objectives, and strategies.
+ Drive the completion of cross-division IT strategy artifacts, technology roadmaps and presentation materials that convey the connection between business strategy, business capabilities, existing IT projects, and proposed technology enablement opportunities.
+ Contribute to all facets of the IT strategy framework, including content and presentation design.
+ Ascertain cross-division synergies for business investment, across business capability gaps, technology application health risks, and process and application simplification opportunities.
+ Partner with BRMs and IT partners to identify opportunities and co-develop proposals for increased positive customer experience, cost reductions, and cost avoidance.
+ Participate in conversations regarding future state business and IT solutions with BRMs, Corporate IT and external vendors.
+ Leverage second- and third-party research to understand current and emergent industry and market drivers, and technology trends, and publish summary and key findings to IT division.
+ Evaluate drivers and trends for division applicability and identify opportunities for further research and/or business investment.
+ Develops approach/s to measure and monitor IT value and business outcomes.
+ PC proficiency to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, business administration, or another discipline relevant to the Healthcare & Life Sciences industry.
+ 7-10 years of IT experience in large or midsized multinational company working as either an IT Business Relationship Management, IT Portfolio Manager, IT Strategy Consultant or Management Consultant.
+ Analysis/Synthesis/Insight Generation: Strong experience in evaluating current state opportunities and making recommendations to improve business goals or outcomes; idea management; project financial forecasting, modeling, and summarization.
+ Communication Strength: Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; experience developing executive-level presentations; establish measures that matter and tracking approach; convey progress and achievement of business goals and objectives.
+ Technology Knowledge: Experience and understanding of the complete software life cycle including privacy and security aspects; strong understanding of business and technology capability maps and ways to leverage concepts for business investment prioritization.
+ Collaboration and Interpersonal Effectiveness: Ability to build strong connections with people and teams; drive results by working across the matrixed environment; work directly with all levels of management up to and including Division Directors and VPs.
+ Consulting Experience: Ability to convey the application of a new or emerging concept to promote understanding and influence action; build frameworks and templates for others to consume and contribute.
+ Leadership & Project Management: Ability to move forward and manage through ambiguity; self-directed with strong work ethic; strong organizational skills and proven ability to multi-task across multiple programs successfully.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Business Relationship Management experience.
+ Management consulting experience.
+ Extensive business case development, evaluation and success metrics.
+ Financial analysis, financial modeling, financial services experience.
+ Ability to develop PowerBI reports and graphs.
+ Advanced degree such as MBA or Finance.
+ Business knowledge in diagnostics, pharmaceutical or medical device organization.

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
