Our client, a global leader in innovative specialty testing for healthcare practitioners, is seeking a Technical Director of Clinical Chemistry.
Key Responsibilities :
+ Oversee the laboratory’s quality management system to ensure regulatory compliance.
+ Direct technical and administrative operations, optimizing instruments, procedures, and methods.
+ Develop and implement new analytical methods; research and evaluate new technologies for DDI testing.
+ Recruit, train, and provide educational direction to staff, ensuring competency and offering remedial training when necessary.
+ Assist testing personnel with technical questions and problem resolution.
+ Maintain and follow quality systems, including participation in proficiency testing programs.
+ Implement remedial actions for test system deviations, ensuring test results are not reported until resolved.
+ Enforce DDI’s procedures, policies, and safety guidelines.
+ Recommend improvements for testing procedures and equipment usage.
+ Maintain effective relationships with accrediting agencies, officials, and the medical community.
Qualifications :
+ Recent (within the last six years) training and/or experience in current methods and techniques.
Meet one of the following criteria:
+ Physician certified by the American Board of Pathology in:
+ Clinical Pathology
+ Anatomic Pathology
+ A relevant area of special competence
+ Dentist certified by the American Board of Oral Pathology.
Physician or Doctoral Degree Holder in a relevant chemical, physical, or biological science, certified by:
+ American Board of Medical Microbiology
+ American Board of Clinical Chemistry (clinical or toxicological chemistry)
+ American Board of Forensic Toxicology
+ American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology
+ American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology
Alternatively, four years of documented post-doctoral training and/or experience in an acceptable laboratory, including at least two years in the desired certificate category and general laboratory management.
+ MD certified in Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology, with a valid medical license in the laboratory’s jurisdiction and a minimum of three years of experience in Laboratory Medicine.
+ Maintain a current “Certificate of Qualification” from the State of Illinois.
