job summary:
A Research Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Chillicothe, IL area. This role involves researching, designing, developing, and testing mechanical products and systems, while providing technical analysis and collaborating closely with teams to ensure the successful implementation of engineering projects.

responsibilities:
+ Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical devices such as tools, engines, and machines.
+ Analyze customer design proposals and specifications to assess feasibility in terms of time and cost.
+ Investigate equipment failures and recommend solutions to maintenance teams.
+ Assist in the structural design of products using tools and software.
Skills:
+ Creativity and effective communication skills.
+ strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Detail-oriented team player.
+ Proficiency in creating sketches and engineering drawings.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
