The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for owning the technical and monthly accounting for debt, equity, pension, intangibles / goodwill, and contract costs, preparing the quarterly and annual financial statements, and performing technical accounting assessments within areas such as revenue recognition. This role is also responsible for M&A accounting, the documentation of internal controls in his or her areas of focus, and assisting with ad-hoc technical accounting projects, as necessary. The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will interact closely with members of accounting, finance, HR/benefits, legal, and internal audit teams, along with the Company's independent auditors to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of the Company's quarterly and annual financial statements and notes within Workiva software.
Actively participate in the month-end close process including preparing thoroughly documented journal entries and account reconciliations within equity, debt, pension, intangibles / goodwill, and contract costs.
Perform technical accounting research as needed and prepare memos documenting conclusions and proper accounting treatment.
Understand, document and properly account for the Company's stock-based compensation plan, including any modifications, utilizing third-party stock compensation software.
Evaluate newly executed contracts under ASC 606 and document detailed contract analyses.
Prepare the quarterly financial reporting memos and debt covenant analysis.
Provide detailed financial statement account analyses (e.g., statement of comprehensive income and cash flow fluctuation) for management and external auditors.
Understand, document, and properly account for the Company's debt agreements, including interest rate swaps and any debt modifications.
Assist in the proper performance and documentation of internal controls primarily within the equity, debt, pension, intangibles / goodwill, business combinations, and revenue areas.
Provide stock compensation reporting assistance for the income tax provision.
Support both internal and external audits.
Participate in the development of accounting policies.
Support the accounting department on special projects and activities, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA required
3-5 years experience in Accounting; 2-3 years of Big 4 experience combined with experience in a corporate accounting setting highly preferred
Strong knowledge of technical GAAP requirements
Stock compensation accounting experience preferred
A solid understanding of the concepts of internal control design and operational effectiveness

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of GAAP including experience performing research on technical accounting issues and the analysis and reporting of financial data including an understanding of the basic financial statements, including cash flows.
Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to prioritize workload based on organizational demands.Operates with a sense of urgency as appropriate.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to interact directly with all levels of Management.
Knowledge and experience with SAP GL helpful, but not required.
