Medline is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our software development team. This pivotal role involves leading and designing solutions for various business initiatives. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, pleasant to collaborate with, and constantly seeks to improve and expand their skills. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will mentor and guide junior developers while also contributing to the technical direction of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, code, testing, deployment, and support of software for our business and commerce needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to established coding standards.
- Facilitate design meetings with users, management, and architects.
- Analyze production issues to determine root cause and provide resolution strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement of software development practices.
- Mentor and guide junior developers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices.
- Develop a deep understanding of Medline's business domain and apply this knowledge to all software development activities.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and governmental regulatory mandates.

High Proficiency in the Following:
- Front-end or back-end development (minimum 5 years professionally)
- Full-stack development (specifically with Java, JavaScript and MV* Framework, such as Angular - 2 year min for each)
- Cloud and container-based development and deployment (Azure preferred).
- Object-oriented design principles and patterns
- SpringBoot
- RESTful web service development
- JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock.
- Karma or Mocha
- JSON, XML
- SQL
- Git
- Experience with at least 1 API design tool (Swagger, Apiary, OpenAPI, etc)
- Agile Scrum
- HTTP protocol
Desirable Experience (Not Required):
- Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
- SOAP, OData, GraphQL.
- OAuth 2.0, Ping Federate.
- J2EE (JSP, Servlet, EJB).
