Where you will work:
The Elwood facility produces bathroom tissue, household paper towels, facial tissue, and napkins for major retail outlets throughout the United States. The Clearwater Paper facility sits on 14 acres and boasts over 200 talented employees. The manufacturing process at Elwood is highly automated with 9 converting lines utilizing slitters, rewinders, wrappers, and a variety of laser-guided vehicles. The Village of Elwood is a quaint and vibrant community in the heart of Will County, one of the fastest-growing areas in the Midwest United States. What you will do:

Organizational Leadership
Coordinate and direct the activities of the hourly production employees in the converting department.
Provide direction to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining safety and quality.
Provide training for crew on all equipment and processes in area of responsibility.
Ensure crew has all tools and supplies needed for job effectiveness.
Assign tasks and follow up with crew when necessary to ensure that work is completed on schedule.
Identify and correct any potential problems, take appropriate action necessary to prevent serious equipment failure.
Lead crews to improve processes by identifying and eliminating non value-added activities.
Safety and Housekeeping
Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, confine spaces, appropriate PPE)
Coordinate safety training and investigate safety incidents, identifying root cause
Ensure the converting crew is maintaining a clean working environment by complying with procedures and housekeeping responsibilities

What you will need:
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in management, engineering, or related field preferred
5 years of industry experience required
1-3 years of leadership experience required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Must have good organizational and computer skills.
Must be self-motivated and energetic.
Ability to work within labor agreement if applicable.
