Proactively manage, coordinate and develop all operational aspects within Rigging and Hanging Signs line of business. Deliver the highest level of hassle-free customer service in the most efficient manner possible.

 


Responsibilities

 

Manage preshow planning and communication with Exhibitors, Service Team, and Client Service Managers to gather all information needed for hanging signs and rigging jobs on upcoming shows and events.
Represent the rigging and hanging sign line of business in all pre-show, show-site, and post-show meetings.
Develop and manage all labor calls and staffing plans to ensure they are fact based and in alignment with the operations plan, the show budget, margin, and service requirements.
Work with leadership to manage show portfolio cost and departmental overhead cost that are directly related to rigging and hanging signs at or below plan.
At show site, provide comprehensive daily updates on progress of all orders. Identify risks, and recovery actions.
Actively engaged on the show floor through inspection to ensure compliance with facility rules, OHSA, ETCP and safety fequirements.
Coordinate activities with vendors and subcontractors for rental materials and subcontract labor needs.
Ensure proper billing practices and proper documentation of materials, labor, and rental equipment is performed to ensure accurate invoicing, for the purpose of capturing all revenue.
Create customer installation estimates.
Ability to identify, respond and resolve billing related concerns with customers in a timely manner.
Manage all operations involving union personnel within the guidelines and spirit of the current contract.
Understand management rights and manage to the agreed upon Collective Bargaining Agreement
Reinforce, engage, and participate in the implementation of standard operating procedures and best practices while identifying inefficiencies and pro-actively developing process improvements.
Ensure damage and loss reports are documented in adherence with company policies and practices.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Rigging & Electrical. 

 


Qualifications

 

Three to five years in an operational environment, which included leading teams through management functions required.
College degree and trade show industry experience preferred.
Familiarity working in a union environment preferred.
Strong organization and communication skills required.
Must demonstrate the ability to interface with internal and external teams in a managerial capacity.
Must be detailed oriented, with the ability to communicate status updates, and the required action items to lead to a successful outcome.
Experience reading floor plans, and basic construction drawings required.
Strong knowledge of rigging equipment, materials and basic understanding of load calculations preferred.
Prior history in the use of AutoCad, or other 2D or 3D software highly preferred.
Must demonstrate proficiency in basic financial and computer skills.
Must be able and willing to travel across the United States.

 


Work Environment

 

Must be able to walk show floor in order to supervise crew
Must be able to work extended hours based on schedule- includes weekends and evenings Requires ability to adapt to multiple settings and shifting responsibilities
Must be able to work under pressure
Opportunity to work nights, weekends and at showsite
Position may require long hours during several months of the year. Typically performs work on the event floor, in noisy and crowded areas
Frequently encounters uncomfortable temperatures, dust and/or other conditions
Requires working both alone and with others in a team atmosphere
Requires working with union and non-union employees
