Wieland Recycling - Granite City is hiring a Mechanical Engineer. This role is located in Granite City, IL. While this role is local, occasional travel to other Recycling locations will be required.
Role Purpose
Wieland Recycling purchases and processes a wide range of metals. The Mechanical Engineer supports Wieland Recycling in the execution of recycling strategies, specifically with our maintenance and operations teams to implement processes with practical solutions. Mechanical Engineers can expect to work on-site with employees at all levels to support recycling of a broad range of materials including metals, alloys, and electronic scrap.
The primary focus of this role is to specify and implement automation, operator interfaces, and safety systems in support of the manufacturing operations. Proficiency with legacy and cutting-edge technologies to ensure that the Company is leveraging the most effective platforms for increased productivity, safety, and profitability.
Lead in the mechanical and technical aspects of projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager. This includes, but is not limited to the design, build, and installation of various projects at the Granite City location. This role will also be responsible for setting project specifications and continual updating to attain and keep pace with business objectives.
Lead internal and external engineering and construction teams to successfully conceptualize, build and startup of projects at the Granite City operation, achieving cost and timeline requirements.
