The Department of Psychology has 36 full-time faculty, serves 1,200 undergraduate majors, and has Ph.D. programs in clinical, developmental, and social psychology. Located on Chicago's vibrantly multicultural North Side, LUC is committed to creating an inclusive, responsive community of faculty, students, and staff. As an urban-based Department of Psychology dedicated to mentoring a diverse student body, many of whom come from underrepresented and underserved populations, we especially encourage applications from candidates from underrepresented groups.
This search is part of a University-wide, multiyear hiring initiative designed to hire outstanding researchers and teachers who are reflective of our diverse student body and committed to interdisciplinarity (i.e., working with colleagues across different subfields and disciplines). Of special interest are candidates who can further the University's efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion. Loyola University Chicago is an ADVANCE institution, one of a select group of universities to receive National Science Foundation funds to support our commitment to increase the number and success of women faculty in the STEM fields.
Teaching responsibilities include four courses in each semester of the academic year. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach General Psychology, Statistics, and/or Research Methods.
