Riveron provides Interim Executive support acting as an extension of our clients' business, providing leadership during periods of high growth, distress, integration, and separation. As an Interim Executive (CFO, CAO, or Controller), you will help balance the demands of executive leadership, boards of directors, and external parties to support transparent, informed decisions and provide expert, financial data-driven advice to help improve operating results.
Who You Are:
Bachelor's or master's in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field of study
Minimum 12 years of combined experience within professional services and industry accounting and/or financial management roles where you demonstrated success supporting companies to adapt and succeed in an environment of significant change (rapid growth, acquisitions, divestures, mergers)
You have a broad skill set and understand best practices for accounting and finance operations including, budgeting and forecasting, month end close, audit support, cash flow forecasting, and management/sponsor/lender reporting
You have a good understanding of critical business processes related to order to cash, procure to pay, and record to report, including the ability to leverage systems and technology to improve processes
You have an understanding of critical accounting issues that routinely surface in companies that are growing through acquisition, including revenue recognition, business combination accounting, equity compensation, leases, debt, etc.
Prior experience as a CFO, CAO, or Controller within a private equity owned business with revenues between $50M and $800M
Prior experience as a CFO, CAO, or Controller within the Industrial, Manufacturing, Retail, Software, or Healthcare industries is preferred
Prior experience working with auditors, specifically on PBC requests ("provided by client" or "prepared by client"), preparation of financial statements and support, and conflict resolution
You have a passion for sustaining long-term client relationships and are skilled at leading and developing teams and individuals
You thrive in an ever-changing, dynamic work environment and can readily identify problems and instinctively look for solutions
You believe that exceeding client expectations and having fun at work are mutually dependent
You enjoy participating in internal and external company initiatives such as community service, training, recruiting, committees, conference panels, and firm events What You'll Do:
Provide interim support to our clients acting as either:
Interim CFO, leading the accounting and finance function, redesigning systems and processes, providing budgets and forecasts, and delivering strategic recommendations on performance improvement, or
Interim CAO/Controller, planning and directing all accounting operations and leading process improvement initiatives within this function.
Work directly with private equity sponsors, client management, and Riveron leadership as a lead partner to navigate through complex business, accounting, and financial issues related to significant business transformations
Actively lead client teams in day-to-day functions of the role, including setting priorities, troubleshooting problems, coaching/developing team members, and digging in to understand problems and improve processes until the full-time role is hired and trained
Partner with clients to execute successful audits, timely and accurate financial close, internal and external financial and business reporting, process improvement initiatives, integration activities, and other critical business initiatives as directed by management
Plan and oversee income and sales tax planning and compliance, liaising with third-party providers
Build a working knowledge of Riveron's various service offerings to allow you to identify business improvement opportunities within the client and work with the larger Riveron team to sell and execute on the delivery of additional services
Foster trusted relationships with clients and prospects to secure new business and build long-term relationships
Foster a working culture that is conducive to developing team members into future leaders
The expected pay range for this position is $140,000 to $320,000 (exclusive of bonus, equity, or benefits for which this role may be eligible).
