This individual will be responsible for financial analyses, using existing and newly gathered data to create meaningful reports and presentations to assist senior leadership with decision making for all mission areas of SIU Medicine. Further, this position will assist with developing pro forma business models for new and existing contracts and business lines and assist with contract negotiations by developing rates using appropriate benchmarks and industry standards. This position will be responsible for developing a various models for provider compensation, collection and analysis. The majority of contacts will occur with SIU Medicine data and analyst personnel, department business managers, and faculty; however, occasional meetings with outside consultants may occur.
Examples of Duties

Develop and manage a complex business models.
Work closely with the BI team to suggest and develop reports and dashboards for senior leader.
Develop Pro Forma business models for new and existing business lines and contracts.
Monitoring and reporting of key operational and productivity metrics associated with the incentive compensation plan including, but not limited to, cash collections, relative value units, quality indicators, and patient satisfaction at the physician and department levels.
Accurate appraisal, interpretation, analysis of financial results; development of interpretive reporting (variance analysis).
Conducting financial and planning analyses as assigned by management.
Assisting in areas related to general finance, compensation, managed care rate analysis, and others.
Routinely performing variance and historical analysis.
Analyzing and coordinating the distribution of a variety of financial data and relevant reports in a clear, concise and timely manner for use by management during critical decision making.
Supervision is required for task objectives.
Qualifications

1. Any one or any combination that equals 4 years from the following:
a. work experience in developing financial or economic analysis, research designs, strategic plans, or data models; or
b. credit for college course work comparable to that in a field related to financial analysis/planning such as accounting, business administration, economics, finance, statistics, or a closely related field
(30 semester hours = 1 year; Associate Degree = 18 months; 90 semester hours = 2 years; Bachelor's Degree = 3 years; Master's Degree = 48 months); AND
2. Two (2) years (24 months) of professional level progressively responsible financial work experience, of which one (1) year (12 months) must have included supervisory or functional oversight experience.

Condition of Employment:  Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, an out-of-state resident who is hired into this position must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of their start date.
