Job Description

Gregory Elinson (Chicago, IL) seeks a Nanny to care for two children under ten in private household. Specific duties include: organizing age-appropriate and educational play activities for children, such as building blocks, arts & crafts, and puzzles; taking children on weather-permitting walks and other outings, such as visits to neighborhood playgrounds, local aquarium, museum, grocery store, or similar; helping children develop basic life skills, such as eating, dressing, potty-training, or similar; reading to children and helping in the development of literacy/numeracy skills; aiding children with homework as necessary; planning and preparing nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for children; driving children to activities; dropping off/picking up from school as necessary; ensuring children take scheduled naps; and performing various other tasks in order to ensure children’s needs are met. Position requires a certification of first-aid training. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as employer’s schedule requires. Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and a personal vehicle for purposes of occasionally transporting children. Must pass a Childcare Background Search, including identity, criminal, sexual offender/predator, and clean driving record search. Must be proficient in English, including the ability to read and write for communicating via text messages. Must be willing to travel occasionally within the U.S.

 

Position requires a high school diploma, or foreign equivalent, plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a similar position caring for a child or children in a private household. Specific experience must include: organizing indoor and outdoor play activities for children under ten, including activities that promote cognitive development; instructing and assisting children in the development of health and personal habits, including hand-washing, tooth-brushing, and dressing; and preparing meals and snacks for children under ten. Must have a certification of first-aid training. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as employer’s schedule requires. Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and a personal vehicle for purposes of occasionally transporting children. Must pass a Childcare Background Search, including identity, criminal, sexual offender/predator, and clean driving record search. Must be proficient in English, including the ability to read and write for communicating via text messages. Must be willing to travel occasionally within the U.S.
