Description:

The HR Associate (Assistant Director of Faculty Reviews) works closely with the Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs on a variety of faculty matters involving faculty promotion and tenure (P&T), appointments, reviews, policies, procedures, and guidelines. In coordination with the Assistant Vice Provost, the HR Associate is responsible for managing the university review processes for promotion and tenure, mid-probationary, senior-rank promotion and annual evaluation, as well as, assisting with the infrastructure management related to these processes, and processes related to faculty appointments. Position is hybrid (3 days a week in office and 2 days remote).

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage the university promotion and tenure review process, including mid-probationary reviews and senior rank promotions, as directed by the Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs. This includes but is not limited to: the coordination and management of the university level reviews and related activities, auditing of required materials, preparing and distributing official communications, managing technology and web-based resources for these processes, maintenance of records, databases, analyses, reporting outcomes and demographics, and the maintenance of policy, procedural and process guideline documents.
Coordinate and maintain the compliance and records of the Annual Evaluation of Faculty process; in collaboration with the Provost's office and Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, assist with dean 5-year reviews
Assist with the maintenance and development of electronic forms, databases, and other technology-based initiatives for continuous process improvement, effectiveness, and efficiency as well as the maintenance of the online UIC Faculty Handbook, UIC Faculty Policies and Procedures, and other resource materials.
Communicate various deadlines, requirements, activities, and compliance issues with points of contact, faculty, administrators, and relevant university units to ensure successful completion of the review processes. Serve as the point of contact for any questions that may arise from faculty, administrators, and staff.
