UI Health is seeking a Clinical Practice Data Analyst Specialist (Quality & Performance Improvement Abstractor) to assist the Director of Quality & Performance Improvement with administrative business/operations functions, including but not limited to budget preparation, equipment inventory, educational webinar coordination, and other tasks as requested. This position also assists with the generation of management reports for committee chairs and hospital leadership. Using knowledge of medical terminology, provides expertise to acquire, analyze, and generate data reports from medical records, clinical and financial, administrative databases, and other medical data for physicians, researchers, and external agencies with the goal of improving patient population health outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provides expertise on data acquisition, management and report generation to the Director, clinicians, healthcare teams, and federal, State, local, and external agencies
Provides administrative support to department members and department sponsored committees as needed. This includes meeting scheduling, creation of agendas and minutes, distribution of materials, follow-ups with document owners, and other duties as needed.
Enters abstracted data, pertinent diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment data from medical charts into a database
Tracks routine statistics and analyze variables in patients.
Investigates causation of missing relevant data for completeness of abstraction requirements, collects follow-up data and corresponds with clinical and non-clinical staff about incomplete charts or data.
Creates detailed summaries of a patient's treatment and , and organize and maintain databases.
Creates data reports from existing databases based on needs analysis of health system leadership, clinicians, and teams.
Provides technical and administrative skills to accurately format documents, which may include a combination of narrative Word, tables, VISIO flow charts, and pdf files.
Develops and assists with the development and update of educational LMS and other training materials as needed.
Represents the department on internal/external committees as required of the position.
