Senior Benefits Analyst - Retirement Plans:

As a Senior Benefits Analyst - Retirement Plans at Univar Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our retirement benefit programs. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of retirement plan administration, compliance, communication, and analysis. Your expertise will ensure that our employees receive competitive and comprehensive retirement benefits while also mitigating risk and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

What You'll Do:
Retirement Plan Administration:
Oversee the day-to-day administration of our U.S. and Canadian retirement plans, including 401(k), pension, supplemental pension, and non-qualified plans.
Process weekly payroll funding, monitor and audit contributions, work to increase process improvements, work with payroll to alleviate errors, increase accurately and drive efficiency.
Coordinate with external plan administrators, third-party vendors, financial institutions, actuaries, and consultants as needed.

Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations including ERISA, 402g, 409A etc.
Prepare and file required reports, such as Form 5500, funding notices, SARS and annual plan audits. Stay up to date with changes in retirement plan regulations and make necessary adjustments to plans accordingly.

Plan Communication and Education:
Develop and deliver retirement plan communication materials to employees, including newsletters, webinars, and workshops.
Provide guidance to employees regarding where to find plan options, investment choices, and retirement planning.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze plan performance and investment options to recommend improvements and optimize plan designs.
Generate regular reports on plan participation, contribution trends, and retirement readiness for management.

Vendor Management:
Collaborate with retirement plan service providers to ensure efficient plan operation and resolve any issues.
Evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations for vendor selection or changes as needed.

Collaboration and Internal Stakeholder compliance
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
Occasional collaboration with Accounting, Finance and Treasury is required.

Issue Resolution
Provide direct support to employees with raised issues as needed.
Partner with vendors on root-cause analysis and issue resolutions as appropriate.

What We Prefer:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CEBS, CPFA) is a plus.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in retirement plan administration, with a strong understanding of defined contribution and defined benefit plans.
Proficiency in retirement plan compliance and reporting requirements, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and engage employees about retirement plans and financial wellness.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
Diligent and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency in retirement plan software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
