Overview

Essential Functions:

+ Be intimately familiar with all project plans, specifications, addenda, bulletins, etc., that constitute the contract documents.

+ Accomplish project requirements by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone deliverables, resolving design problems, evaluating and implementing change orders.

+ Participate in the pre-construction planning sessions to familiarize themself with the unique characteristics of the project. Become completely knowledgeable with the scope of all subcontract agreements.

+ Participate in organization, scheduling, and monitoring of subcontractor’s staffing levels for timely project completion. Analyze worker and production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing procedures where practical on project.

+ Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to design plans and specifications.

+ Conduct meetings, as required, with all subcontractor representatives of the project on a daily and/or weekly basis to schedule and coordinate the activities to be accomplished.

+ Ensure that all required testing of materials, as specified, is properly conducted and testing results are properly recorded.

+ Ensure material is delivered to the construction site per established agreements.

+ Record information such as personnel, production, and operational data on specified forms and reports; communicate with Project Manager.

+ Establish and maintain jobsite safety per the requirements of the projects Safety and Health Plan, UICC HSET program requirements, and all local and federal safety regulations.

+ Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure the project is properly manned to meet project schedules and budgets.

+ Additional duties may include assisting in estimating, review of subcontractor and material proposals, assist with the development of the master schedule, assisting in review of shop drawings for key materials and finalization of as-builts, turnover and walk throughs for equipment and material.

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

+ Minimum 10 years of experience supervising and directing construction activities at a jobsite level.

+ Detailed knowledge of the complete project lifecycle.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

+ Ability to generate legally defensible documentation for field work.

+ Ability to explain technical aspects of field work to internal and external clients verbally and in writing.

+ Highly organized and able to manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines.

+ Demonstrated ability to maintain pleasant working relationships, perform multiple tasks simultaneously and uphold the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

+ Proficiency in other programs such as Microsoft Project, PDF Converter Professional, local, state, and federal databases is desirable.

Qualifications

Experience:

+ Must be familiar with specific project, owner’s representatives, location of tools and equipment.

+ High School Diploma/or equivalent

Physical Demands:

+ Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing, heavy lifting and carrying.

+ Working on uneven walking surfaces, working on ladders, and scaffolding.

+ Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

+ Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating materials.

Environmental Conditions:

+ Loud noises, and/or extremes of heat or cold.

+ The work often requires wearing protective gear that may be uncomfortable.

+ The nature of the work environment may produce moderate levels of stress.

+ Work environment is that of a construction site.

+ May be working near moving equipment.
