Required Skills:
Production Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Develop, design, create, modify, and/or test software services to ensure optimal performance and capacity for growth.
2. Own back-end data warehouse services, front-end services like Messenger and Newsfeed, and infrastructure components to ensure services run without incident.
3. Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the problems in real time in highly complex software systems.
4. Serve as an escalation contact for service incidents.
5. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
6. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
7. Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the U.S.

8. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Foreign Equivalent accepted.
9. Requires 24 months of experience involving the following:
10. 1. UNIX or Linux operating system fundamentals
11. 2. TCP/IP network fundamentals
12. 3. Coding in at least one of the following: higher-level programming languages: PHP, Python, C++, or Java
13. 4. Software frameworks and APls
14. 5. Internet service architectures (such as load balancing, LAMP, or CDN’s)
15. 6. Configuring and maintaining applications using at least one of the following: web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems, or messaging systems
16. 7. Relational Databases including MySQL
17. 8. Maintaining web-based applications using at least one of the following: Apache, Memecached, or Squid
18. 9. Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues ranging from low-level hardware issues to large scale failures within datacenter clusters and
19. 10. Experience utilizing high performance query engines (Presto or Spark) for big data
Public Compensation:
$204,976/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
