Software Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Research, design, develop, build and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for large distributed components that run applications.
2. Duties include: Build new features and improve existing products.
3. Work on problems of moderate scope.
4. Push code, drive the development of the systems behind products.
5. Create web applications that reach billions of people, build high volume servers, and be a part of a team to connect people around the globe.
6. Develop relevant product area, codebase, or systems.
7. Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming and software engineering.
8. Produce high-quality code with good test coverage, using modern abstractions and frameworks.
9. Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.
10. Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the United States.

11. Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 24 months of experience in the following:
12. 1. Coding in one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript
13. 2. Python, PHP, or Haskell
14. 3. Relational databases and SQL
15. 4. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)
16. 5. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands
17. 6. Building highly-scalable performant solutions and large-scale infrastructure applications
18. 7. Distributed systems including sharding, consistency, and availability
19. 8. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulation, advanced commands, and shell scripting
20. 9. Applying algorithms and core computer science concepts to real world systems as evidenced by recognizing and matching patterns from different areas of computer science in production systems
21. 10. Designing and completing medium to large features independently without guidance
22. 11. Experience owning a particular software component, feature or system
23. 12. Design scalable distributed systems with established partition tolerance, consistency, and availability guarantees

$197,663/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
