Job Description
Position: Quality Inspector
Reports to: Department Supervisor Position Statues: Non-Exempt Position Summary : Inspects, test, analyze materials, parts and products for defects and deviations from specifications. Compares product with parts list or sample to ensure completion of assembly. Duties and Responsibilities+ Abides OSHA and FSC rules and regulations for safety.
+ Wear typical protection gear in an environment that contain dust, odors and noise.
+ Work well under pressure.
+ Verifies specified dimensions and measurements of product or material.
+ Examine parts/products for any defects, cracks, pits and/or incomplete welds.
+ Inspects procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards.
+ Test parts for hardness, structural defects, and leaks.
+ Test mechanisms for clearance and freedom of movement.
+ Approve or reject materials with respect to quality standards and record performance.
+ Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager.
+ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Demands+ Required to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently.
+ Must be able to frequently lift and/or move objects of 50 pounds or more.
+ Must be able to cover other shifts/overtime as necessary.
+ Must be able to bend and squat frequently.
+ Must be able to stand for 8 hours or more daily.
Required Knowledge and/or Experience+ Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
+ Minimum of 2-year experience and/or training; Or combination of education and experience.
+ Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
+ Experience welder, MIG and TIG weld preferred.
+ Ability to work in a team as well as individual.
+ Attention to detail and problem solver.
+ Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Basic math and measurement skills
+ Ability to read various engineering drawings
+ Ability to read English.
+ Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
