How can you make an impact?
The Strategy Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and growth trajectory of McGraw Hill's Higher Education Division. Reporting to the VP of Strategy, the Strategy Director will work cross-functionally to drive the formulation and execution of both near-term and long-term strategies for the business. This high-impact role will involve leading components of MHHE's strategic planning process, identifying key growth drivers and challenges, leading market research efforts and business case development, assisting with corporate development activity, and driving strategic initiatives with business leaders across the division. This role is open to remote candidates located within the United States and requires up to 25% travel for the year.
What you will be doing:
Work in close collaboration with the VP of Strategy to facilitate MHHE's strategic planning process.
Led a wide range of high-impact strategy projects and initiatives by working with business leaders to structure complex business problems, conduct research and analysis, lead teams, and deliver recommendations for growth.
Define and execute strategic market research projects in service of key strategic questions and growth initiatives (e.g., market sizing, primary survey-based research, competitive analysis)
Develop a deep understanding of industry trends and the competitive landscape.
Support MHHE's strategy and corporate development objectives, including conducting a strategic evaluation of M&A or partnership opportunities.
Create and communicate compelling presentations and memos for senior leadership and/or other corporate stakeholders
What we are looking for:
A bachelor's degree in the related field
8+ years of management consulting, corporate strategy, or equivalent business experience.
Ability to structure complex problems and influence action through strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience conducting primary and second research in service of formulating or executing strategy.
Maturity and presence to develop relationships at different organizational levels and across functions.
Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Displays and acts with curiosity, initiative, integrity, and professionalism.
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Experience in the education ecosystem (preferred)
Strong financial acumen and modeling skills (preferred)
Experience with digital research tools (e.g., Qualtrics) is preferred

The pay range for this position is between $130,000- $175,000 annually; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, offered job title, skills, experience, and location.An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
