Job Description

Enquizit, a CDW company, is seeking a Lead NBS SME, Epidemiologist/Informaticist with extensive experience in serving at STLT public health departments.
In this role, you will serve as a senior lead epidemiologist/informaticist for the NBS modernization project. You will help inform what the roadmap would look like, what needs to get prioritized to modernization the system, and help with the product strategy. You will be actively involved in shaping the direction of product development decisions. You will be the lead SME for a multi-functional team in the ideation, design, and development of a modern disease surveillance system that meets the needs of STLT (state, tribal, local, territorial) public health departments and public health entities. You must be capable of working in a fast-paced Agile environment and working cooperatively with a multi-functional team.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Serve as a lead public health epidemiologist/informaticist SME for the CDC NBS Modernization Project
Assist in defining the product's strategy, product vision, roadmap, prioritization, goals, and initiatives for the NBS Modernization Project (alongside the product lead)
Come in with a drive to better the NBS system and modernize the legacy system with a passion to better the lives of users
Have a great understanding and knowledge of NBS system and user and technical pain points surrounding the legacy system and reporting data to CDC
Inform and work with a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, designers, and other key stakeholders to meet the desires of end users through the ideation, design, and development of a modern disease surveillance system that meets the needs of public health and STLTs (state, tribal, local, territorial health departments and public health entities)
Promotes impartiality and aids the NBS modernization team in comprehensively considering diverse user perspectives, and understanding the various user types, system roles, and permission sets.
Support technology transformation and help inform process improvements for a mission-critical system
Help NBS modernization team members understand traditional and non-traditional public health data, public health data sources, public health common practices, how public health operates, how grants function within a STLT, how data is sent to CDC, be able to share expertise in all aspects of the public health space (technology, data ingestion, WDS, configurations, technology approval processes, data translation, data submissions, etc.)
Help NBS modernization team members to understand various STLTs' configurations, customizations, and technological landscapes
Aid in the coordination, streamlining, and quality control of data collection and how to get clean data out of NBS
Act as a liaison between the IT team, CDC, and STLTs (public health agencies and entities) and ensure that STLTs are given customer support
Develop innovative solutions for operational and strategic changes
Effectively communicate knowledge, findings, insights and plans to cross-functional team members and key stakeholders
Conduct user trainings or knowledge transfer sessions on a variety of topics related to the NBS system, public health, data in/out, system admin, informatics, etc. as needed

Education and/or Skill-Set Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology/Public Health/Informatics (or relevant work experience)
7-10 years of experience working with NBS, CDC, Federal, State, Local, or related public health entities.
At least 5 years of specific work or training experience in disease tracking and surveillance.
At least 5 years or more of relevant hands-on experience in a senior level role for a STLT
Strong understanding of health-related practices, rules, data standards, regulations, and policies
Possess demonstrable knowledge in public health, common STLT disease surveillance systems (knowledge with NBS6/Classic a plus, Maven, Epitrax, etc.)
