The opportunity

This role will develop and implement sales and business development strategies that promote continued growth and profitability for our Captive Medical Stop Loss division. Maintain regular contact with brokers to strengthen business relationships and equip brokers with information and tools that support the achievement of new business and retention sales objectives.

Primary Responsibilities
* Design and implement strategies to drive new business and deliver rate and retention targets by analyzing sales and profitability trends to identify opportunities for increased business and put actions in place to resolve profitability and service issues
*Develop agency business goals that are in alignment with the region's profitability and growth expectations and motivate agents to achieve sales objectives
*Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding and leveraging organizational services, liaising among external and internal key stakeholders and resolving issues to ensure delivered services meet objectives and contribute to increased total revenues and profitability
*Provide subject matter expertise during client business reviews by collaborating with internal operations teams and ensure services align with client needs and expectations while continuously benefitting the organization
*Forecast and manage sales activity and pipeline to meet revenue targets and company goals
*Anticipates future trends through looking outward at the customer 's market, competition, and alternatives
*Optimize book of business by utilizing individual credibility to effectively communicate benefits of partnering with the organization and enable strong client retention
*Achieve targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
*Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility

Required Education
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience
* 7 years relevant experience

* Business development experience

Preferred Knowledge
* Advanced working knowledge of property and casualty insurance products for multiple states and carriers
*Advanced working knowledge of Department of Insurance state specific solicitation and selling regulations
*Advanced working knowledge of policies and best practices for providing effective customer service and representing the organization to external sources by phone, in person, and through email
*Events affecting the industry, including understanding of competition and the marketplace
*Stay abreast of new and emerging tools and technologies relevant to the line of work
