Job Description
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the insurance industry in Naperville, Illinois. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting overdue funds and resolving discrepancies with customer accounts in a high volume setting.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with insurance carriers, claims examiners, brokers, and CPA firms to assist in obtaining payment
- Work within the AR Subledger to reconcile receivables data
- Prepare high volume invoices and process cash receipts
- Post payments to customer accounts and monitor these accounts regularly
- Perform account adjustments, small balance write-offs, and customer reconciliations
- Reconcile client discrepancies pertaining to outstanding balances
- Serve as a liaison with internal and external customers, providing customer service regarding collections issues
- Process customer refunds and credit memos
- Prepare weekly and monthly reporting and present data to management
- Utilize various software systems including Microsoft Excel and SAP for tasks such as AR Subledger reconciliations and high volume invoice preparation. Requirements – Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Familiarity with Accurint software
- Experience with IBM AS/400
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of Billing Functions
- Knowledge of Collection Processes
- Previous experience as a Collector
- Understanding of Credit processes and regulations
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Familiarity with SAP
- Proficiency in Excel Formulas
- Experience with Excel VBA
- Understanding of VLOOKUP function in Excel
- Proficiency in creating Pivot Tables in Excel
