Job Objective:

This position ensures the efficient and effective operation of the office of the Territorial Commander through complex administrative, research and clerical support with minimal direction.

Essential Functions:
Coordinate and manage all administrative functions.
Assess all incoming mail, determine priorities, independently respond or draft Territorial Commander responses, and delegate when appropriate. Ensure timely response to all correspondence. Work with the Chief Secretary Executive Assistant to ensure coordinated response and clarity of assignments.
Review and update all correspondence templates.
Manage a wide range of complex and confidential materials, including personnel issues, appointment proposals and sensitive documents.
Coordinate and maintain Territorial Commander's schedule, including all aspects of calendar.
Manage and track all projects, including bring up and action follow up.
Create and maintain Territorial Commander's communication plan, including coordination with all section communication personnel (ie. VisCom, Development Communications, Central Connection)
Manage Territorial Commander's social media, podcasts, graphic design and recordings.
Provide draft content for communication elements, as requested.
Provide administrative support for meetings chaired by the Territorial Commander as needed. This includes tracking agendas and follow-up for cabinet and 1-1 meetings.
Coordinate and arrange Territorial Commander's travel, including hotels and flights.
Serve as critical link to all cabinet secretaries, command heads and department heads.
Be able to provide direction regarding protocol and policies, as needed on behalf of the Territorial Commander.
Coordinate use of Camp Wonderland Territorial Commander's cottage and use of cabinet van.
Provide administrative and project management support to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Secretary.
Education & Certification:
Minimum two years college

Experience:

Minimum of 8-10 years experience in executive administrative role, with demonstrated ability working with a travelling executive

OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional clerical skills
Strong interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy
Able to handle with trust all confidential matters
Knowledge of computer programs and applications, including Canva and PowerPoint and all correspondence programs.
Social media experience
Independence and flexibility
High level of initiative
Attention to detail, creative problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Executive level project management
Composition and editing skills essential
Salvation Army experience and knowledge of organization and denominational ministry or ability to quickly learn is essential.

None
Travel:

Provide support for conferences and meetings as required.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a typical office environment. Full-time position may require some weekend and evening work.
