Job Description
30% Under administrative direction, serves as a Senior Applications Developer/Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology, supporting the Department of Corrections:
- Performs complex and difficult technical and advisory functions in the analysis and evaluation of computer systems.
- Coordinates the development of major revision of complex system projects.
- Participates in the development and coding of computer programs.
- Coordinates the activities of other project team members.
- Coordinates the development of program flow charts, program specifications, audit trails, edits, control procedures, programming specifications and reviews the development coding of computer programs and systems.
25% Oversees and advises Junior Developers on the analysis, development, coding, testing and documenting of complex projects dealing with offender and juvenile management applications, programs, and systems, using Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services & Entity Framework, JavaScript, .Net, C#, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics CRM
15% Reviews existing systems to evaluate the advantages and limitations to new software technology implementation:
- Develops and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve the effectiveness of existing applications
10% Participates in planning and conducting technical training programs and subject matter seminars on appropriate areas of application development
10% Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field:
- Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences to increase familiarity with and maintain current on IT products, vendors, techniques and procedures.
- Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations.
5% Conducts and participates in coordinating a comprehensive systems project study of inter-departmental functions, schedules, and operations.
5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
