Position Description

We're looking for a full-time, staff Learning & Development Specialist - Munitions to join our Day & Zimmermann team.

The Learning & Development Specialist will support design and development of tailored learning plans and career maps by job family and function for positions throughout the business unit. The Learning & Development Specialist will serve as the lead LMS administrator, assist in design of programs and curriculum, develop eLearning content and courses, facilitate training sessions, and participate in analysis of training progress. Moreover, this role will suggest methods to address identified gaps and further develop and enhance employee knowledge, skills, and abilities.

As the Learning & Development Specialist - Munitions, here's the work you'll do:
Design, develop, and facilitate comprehensive and impactful multimodal training programs (ILT, VILT, and eLearning asynchronous) and materials that align with organizational goals, conducting needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements, and customizing training content to meet the specific needs of different departments and teams. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and formats, such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures.
Develop and implement train-the-trainer programs to ensure internal trainers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. Provide coaching and support to internal trainers to enhance their delivery and facilitation skills
Function as lead administrator for the learning management system (Litmos); learner account creation and management, troubleshooting system access issues, training enrollment and completion management, provision of metrics and reporting as requested, overall system upkeep.
Collaborate with department heads and key stakeholders to identify learning needs and align training programs with business objectives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gain buy-in and support for learning initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, including training vendors and consultants.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics. Continuously seek ways to improve training programs based on feedback and industry best practices. Stay updated with the latest trends in learning and development to bring innovative ideas to the organization.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

Demonstrated experience and success in creating and enhancing e-learning courses including online delivery and hybrid, and enhancing traditional classes with interactive multimedia using strong problem solving skills and decision abilities.
Ability to navigate and effectively manage a learning management system; experience loading and tracking content and users.
Excellent facilitator and overall communication skills; ability to deliver training in multi-modal settings such as face-to-face, virtual-led online, asynchronous versus synchronous, and hybrid methods.
Experience in measuring training outcomes, effectiveness, and overall learner satisfaction
Monitoring/Assessing performance of self, others, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

And if you have these qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; formal coursework in adult learning, instructional design and/or e-learning strongly preferred
Minimum 3 years working as an instructional designer and/or curriculum developer
E-learning and/or Instructional Design preferred
Overnight travel will be required, up to 10%
