Job Description

The Highlights:
Student Success Navigator is a college-level staff role that collaborates across departments and units both within the undergraduate and graduate domains. The Navigator provides support to ensure the sustainability and growth of the College of Science and Health's (CSH) Comprehensive Student Success and Retention Initiatives (CSSRI) across the student life cycle. The Navigator closely collaborates with the CSH advising team as the College advances the alignment and synergies between its student success initiatives and academic and pre-health advising. The Navigator partners with Academic Continuity and Engagement (ACE), Office of Multicultural Student Success (OMSS), and the Career Center.

What You'll Do:
Provides support to all CSH undergraduate and graduate students using evidence-based, best practice student success interventions, including the implementation and assessment of the CSSRI, across the student lifecycle; creates and prepares reports, correspondence, design frameworks, and communication materials
Partners with external units and divisions (e.g., ACE and OMSS) on retention and persistence strategy and tactics to close the achievement gap for undergraduate CSH students
Develops, coordinates, and facilitates undergraduate student success skill workshops in partnership with faculty and staff tailored for STEM and health students to improve retention, persistence, and graduation rates, and lower DFW rates; meets with CSH students 1:1 to develop customized success plans and provide student success coaching
Liaises with student success points of contact, whether faculty or staff, in CSH departments and units, and informs and supports their strategies and tactics to ensure cohesiveness and collaboration across the CSH to support undergraduate and graduate student success
Monitors the use of CSSRI initiatives; utilizes university data to inform decision making; coordinates BlueStar/Salesforce alerts and progress reporting with faculty and staff for undergraduate and graduate CSH students

What You'll Need:
Bachelors degree required.
Master's degree in higher education, education, health, health sciences, sciences, counseling, student affairs, or related field is preferred.
Experience with success coaching or academic enhancement
Strong programming and event planning skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organization skills
Ability to take initiative
Strong problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong presentation skills
Ability to communicate with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff
Knowledge of Microsoft office and web browser tool
Some evening and weekend hours may be required during peak operation and to participate in recruitment events, including Commencement and CSH Honors Celebration
