Job Description Summary 
 The Albuquerque (ABQ) MSW Program Director is a full-time faculty appointment to the social work program with expected summer duties and performs the duties associated with program coordination and administration of the Master's in Social Work program.

The MSW Program Coordinator will have the primary responsibility for establishing the MSW Program at the ABQ campus of Lewis University. The Program Coordinator will establish the program's curriculum in accordance with CSWE standards and New Mexico state guidelines. The Program Coordinator will develop community networks to promote the program and develop clinical placement sites for MSW students. The Program Coordinator will work with Lewis University admissions and marketing offices in order to promote and recruit students into the program. The Program Coordinator will teach 12 credit hours annually.
Responsibilities 
 The Program Coordinator will model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian high education.

 

The MSW Program Director will have the primary responsibility of developing and administering the Social Work MSW Program.

-Provide consultation, assistance, and support to the Graduate Admissions Office and the Marketing Department in the recruitment of graduate students.

-Establish and implement admissions criteria consistent with the standards of the School of Graduate, Professional, and Continuing Education.

-Serve as an advisor to newly admitted graduate students

-Monitor the academic progress of program graduate students.

-Monitor, direct, and schedule graduate program offerings.

-Identify and recommend the hiring of full and/or part-time faculty, as appropriate

- Monitor inquiry, application, and admissions trends and prepare enrollment projections as requested by members of the Administration.

- Initiate and recommend program changes, as appropriate, for approval by the Department and the Graduate Council.

-Screen, interview and hire adjunct faculty.

-Request, through the department, the need for full-time faculty member to replace who left and/or a new faculty member. Chair or sit on the search committee and oversee the hiring process when approved.

-Handle discipline-specific needs and issues of faculty and students within the graduate program.

-Perform continuous assessment of the graduate program, including program review, annual updates and accreditation.

-Mentor, evaluates, supervises faculty, including reviewing course evaluations, faculty updates and contributes to recommendation for promotion and tenure. Encourages professional growth of faculty.

-Work closely with ABQ campus director.

-Meet regularly with graduate program full-time and part-time faculty members regarding course offerings, teaching quality, and curricular offerings.

-Meet regularly with the Department Chairperson and/or Romeoville MSW Program Director.

-Attend (virtually) the Graduate Council meetings at the Romeoville campus.

-Attend (virtually) Social Work Department meetings at the Romeoville campus.

-Confirm and verify the successful completion of all graduate program requirements for students who apply for graduation.

-Teach graduate program courses.

-Maintain outside contacts, including alumni.

-Carry out the duties and responsibilities of a faculty member as delineated in the Faculty Bylaws.

-Perform such additional duties as may be requested by the Department Chairperson and the College of Education and Social Sciences Dean and the Dean of Graduate and Professional, and Continuing Education
Minimum Qualifications 
 -Doctoral degree in social work. Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited school of social work and at least two years of post-MSW practice experience.
