Position: DevOps Architect
Duties: The DevOps Architect is a leader with an established record of DevOps organizational transformation working in a hybrid, multi-cloud environment. This role is responsible for developing and executing a Development Operations (DevOps) strategy to ensure quality software deployments and overall application health and performance. Optimizes relationships between the development, quality assurance and IT operations teams. The DevOps architect will work across True Value applications teams, partner application teams, infrastructure support organizations and True Value cloud partners. The DevOps Architect designs and maintains DevOps infrastructure. The DevOps Architect owns the quality of architecture and design. The DevOps Architect will develop infrastructure testing procedures and confirms procedures are properly implemented. The DevOps Architect consults with management to determine future operational requirements for upcoming project and updates. The DevOps Architect functionally decomposes complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions. The DevOps Architect trains teams and leverages DevOps pipelines. The DevOps Architect exerts technical influence over multiple teams, increasing productivity and effectiveness by sharing deep knowledge and experience. The DevOps Architect leads technical and design discussions with development teams. The DevOps Architect handles quality assurance activities to ensure software development is performed in a timely manner. The DevOps Architect researches and resolves problems discovered in quality assurance reviews. The DevOps Architect maintains knowledge of new industry-used tools and techniques and recommends updates to management. The DevOps Architect incorporates latest technology best practices and improves operational performance. Lastly, the DevOps Architect monitors key performance metrics to ensure the DevOps infrastructure can meet them.
Requirements: Bachelor degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five years of experience in experience as a DevOps Architect (or closely related occupation) performing software development or application engineering using languages -- Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, or C++. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess 1 years of the following: Architecting and automating cloud native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure; performing Infrastructure as Code, using CloudFormation and Terraform; using microservices and distributed applications containers, Kubernetes, or serverless technology; working on Configuration Management platforms -- Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible. Architecting cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools -- Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, Code Deploy (AWS) or GitLab; and, working on the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices.
